Sounds gross I know, and it kinda is, but hear me out.
This is an Ayurvedic cleansing ritual that I learned during my yoga teacher training - but didn’t implement until I worked with my Health Coach.
I swear, this one thing has prevented me from getting sick over the last 8 years. Like, I hardly ever get what my kids bring home from school or if I do it is a very light version of it - like I can feel it coming but then I double down on all my witchy teas, herbs, spices and cleansing rituals and manage to stay healthy
You can buy a tongue scraper at any health foods store or on Amazon, not expensive. However, you can try this practice on for size first with a kitchen spoon to see what you think before you buy anything.
*notice over time the colour, consistency and amount of film you have on your tongue and relate it back to what you ate the day before.
*try this for 2 weeks to see how you feel and note any changes or deeper connection to your body you feel.
For example, if I eat a lot of dairy, meat or processed food it is yellow and thick. If I eat plant-based whole foods it is still there but not as thick and almost clear colour or an off white.
This is a powerful immunity boosting tool that helps your body detoxify itself. Your body works all night to create the film on your tongue. The least you can do is scrap it off and remove it from your system instead of drinking water and swallowing it back down.
